How I Work

“Your work is to discover your work and then
with all your heart, to give yourself to it.”
~Buddha

Where do we begin?
The first step in starting this process is reaching out and making contact!

Once we connect and set up an initial appointment for therapy, completing the intake form can help in organizing important information which will in turn help me to make an accurate assessment of what your goals and needs are during our first meeting.  The Initial Evaluation Form form is located under Resources.  If participating in couples therapy, each of you need to complete a separate form with your individual information and history.  You have the option of returning the paperwork to me prior to the session or coming early so I can review it before we start (about 15 mins).

What to expect from the initial appointment:
Together we will review the contents of your paperwork.  During that initial assessment, I will learn about your background(s) and how you arrived at the decision to begin therapy. We will devise a plan for treatment, set our goals, and establish the frequency of visits.  At this point I can answer any questions you might have about the therapy process.

The logistics:
There are various aspects to the therapy process which are laid out in my Policies and Procedures Form, also located in the Resources area.  Please print this form and initial each subject area.  If you are participating in couples therapy, both partners should initial together and sign the bottom.  This document answers a lot of questions and details the logistics of the process.

Please remember:
I have a deep passion for this work!  I want the process to be clear, safe and effective.  I desire to create a space you can feel comfortable and supported in.  It is important that it feels like a good fit on both sides.  Again, ANY questions, or concerns you might have can be discussed at our initial meeting, or at anytime throughout our work together.
